Hi, I am JJ Ignotz.
I am an award-winning photographer from the United States. I photograph out of my studio on Madison Avenue and have been running my photography business since 2008. I have photographed NYC institutions such as the Empire State Building, Rockefeller Center, Fresh&Co, Murray´s Bagel, Uncommon Schools, Hallmark, and Scholastic as well as a myriad of other businesses. In editorial work, I have photographed for Jenny Yoo, The Groomsman Suit, Rhone Apparel, and Fair Harbor Clothing. I have photographed hundreds of events, weddings, engagements, artists portraits, and headshots for a range of clients including Janelle Monae, Jason Mraz, Wonderama, J. Mendel, Roma Torre, Sierra Boggess, Leo Ash Evens, and Elmo. My work has been featured on busses, buildings, banners, and media ads nationally.
I first picked up a camera as a tween after finding my mom's 1970's Canon AE-1 and went on to become a cum laude graduate of Ithaca College where I studied cinema and photography with a minor in marketing. I have been told I am effervescent, enthusiastic, and am always looking through my viewfinder finding the next story at home and all over the world.
When not capturing moments or traveling I can be found with friends or tending to my 30+ plant children in my NYC apartment.
My breadth and depth of experience in a variety of fields allow me to tailor the vision of any shoot specifically for all of her clients. There is nothing more fulfilling than photographing special cornerstone moments and I will make the experience fun and professional resulting in images that are beautiful and full of personality.
